Creating a chemical reaction!

Creating a chemical reaction  (Chemical = Permanent changes)

  • Measuring beaker
  • Zip - locked bag
  • 2.5 mls of soda
  • 20mls of vinegar
  • The chemicals prevent an exothermic reaction which means the carbon dioxide is expanding in the zip - locked bag.

The following class extended on with science tasks. Objects around tables grabbed everyone’s attention. Baking soda and vinegar were set on each of the tables.  The purpose of the two following chemicals being so that it would be tested. A Zip - locked bag was provided as well as a measuring beaker. A small amount of baking soda was placed in the corner of the bag, twisting the corner from the protection of the vinegar. Combining 20mls of vinegar leaving the chemicals to fizz and rise up, preventing gas to fill up the bag. The temperature of the solution remained cold against the kinetic energy to prevent an Exothermic reaction.
