Creating a chemical reaction!

Creating a chemical reaction  (Chemical = Permanent changes)

  • Measuring beaker
  • Zip - locked bag
  • 2.5 mls of soda
  • 20mls of vinegar
  • The chemicals prevent an exothermic reaction which means the carbon dioxide is expanding in the zip - locked bag.

The following class extended on with science tasks. Objects around tables grabbed everyone’s attention. Baking soda and vinegar were set on each of the tables.  The purpose of the two following chemicals being so that it would be tested. A Zip - locked bag was provided as well as a measuring beaker. A small amount of baking soda was placed in the corner of the bag, twisting the corner from the protection of the vinegar. Combining 20mls of vinegar leaving the chemicals to fizz and rise up, preventing gas to fill up the bag. The temperature of the solution remained cold against the kinetic energy to prevent an Exothermic reaction.

The late parish!

The late parish

Brainstorm:
  • Where: St. Pius parish
  • When: Christmas eve 2016
  • Who: Aunty, and I

It was Christmas eve, 2016. It was dark, cold. The time travelled to 10pm, as my aunty and I exercised our way to the Saint Pius church.

My heart was urging for the big celebration converging towards us. The piano had commenced,  as we began to sing the introduction song.  My phone vibrated in my pocket, the person was declared as unknown. I was sure that I had labeled all my contacts, however this number was unidentified.

It was time for the giving of the Eucharist as my pocket kept on trembling. I continuosly  questioned myself, “Who could this possibly be?, Why are they calling me?, How do they know my number?”  The time elevated to 12am, everyone stood up in joy for it was the birthday of Christ. The public shook hands and hugged tight with warm kisses and greeting of the son.

My aunty and I escorted home as happy as a smiley emoji. My phone followed on with texts and missed calls. “Arrrrgh!” I growled. “That’s it, what do you want!” I said, annoyed. The texts had shown, “Hi”, “I know where you live”, “I have experienced everyday of your life with you” I began to feel afraid, as I grabbed tight on my auntie's hand leaving a grin on her face. “Who could this possibly be?” It couldn’t be my mum because she mentioned that her phone broke two days from now.

I scrolled down for more texts, "Hi, me again, I need to tell you something very important, wait for another 10 minutes"  I didn't text back at all, for my fingers were trembling with fear.  As 10 minutes past, my aunty and I reached to our house. The text sprung about in my pocket, I was shivering in fright. "You're adopted" it said.  I was so confused. As I entered my mom's room, I greeted my cousin,  as they both were giggling about the phone. I told my mum and cousin about the whole mysterious story, and they laughed, even cried about my problem. It all made sense now, it was a Christmas prank appointed from my mum and sent by my cousin’s phone. The beginning of Christmas established with the amusing argument of my life.

We are learning how to  create a descriptive/mysterious writing to attract my audience.
