• First to maintain your own home. 
• Avoid accumulating junk/rubbish into your yard.

Description of what I have recently learnt about this Winter learning journey week - 

• Throughout this winter learning journey week, I have learnt plenty of news about our local New Zealand and the endangered species that are living in our country. I am very surprised that us New Zealanders participated in creating one of the world's most fastest motorbikes in the world. In duration of this week this journey has taught me to look after our pure New Zealand creations as it will hopefully fulfill the word for future generations to come.

Day 6____ Activity 1:
Poem about New Zealand - 

• The green lovely bushes and trees I see, with everyone smiling and greetings to me. Heart beating vigorously, nose touching that I can't agree. Sun shining up upon and the wonderful birds  chirping I can add on. Ocean swifting forward, I can't wait to live here and discover the unheard.

Activity 2:
Three events I have chosen from the article - 

• One of the events I enjoyed was the Kaumatua kapa haka, it was really enjoyable to watch and very upbeat. 
• The next activity I enjoyed was the Matariki ritual where the local people around Aotearoa shared stories, celebrated life and  remembered those who had passed away in the last year. 
• Last of all I have the Matauranga Maori knowledge panel discussion where Maori and non Maori participator are discussing and understanding the difference of how the world has evolved in different cultures.

Day 5 __ Activity 1
Short story -

• There I was alone in a forest, "Arrrggg, how could I've been so stupid, where could they possibly be?! I questioned myself with terror running down my spine. I ran following a random track of leaves. "Arrrggg that stupid tree!!" I continued to blame myself. For a second there I stopped and breathed, hearing voices approaching from my right. "Hello!!!, anyone there!" I kept searching, with my heart beating anonymously. The next thing I know bags laid on the ground, confusingly hoping that they belong to my camp group.

Bonus activity -
Cycling in the Otago Rail Trail - I think can be really supportive for a simple work out to do with a family member or friend. I personally agree with this outdoor activity, hopefully I can truely visit around Central Otago and give cycling a chance.

Day 4 ___ Activity 1:
What did the local people do to save the beach whales?

• The local people volunteered to help,  enable to pour buckets of water onto each and every whale. Here is a quote from the article to support this statement : "Keep them wet, cover them if you can, keep their blowholes clear and stay away from the tails."

Activity 2:

Summary about the movie whale rider - 

• This movie is about a young girl (Paikea) who was born and raised in Aotearoa. She is challenged by a mother dying from birth giving, as the father has arrived at once to his daughter. At age 12 Paikea has to  declare her birth right over her grandfather (Rawiri Paratene). 

Rating for movie - 

• I give this movie a 5 = excellent movie, because it has given me a breath of the a beautiful New Zealand experience.

Bonus activity:

My perspective about whether fishing in Farewell spit should be banned - 

• I think people should be banned to fish in the Farewell spit because these native dolphins are very endemic to New Zealand and no one can bare without our beautiful sea creatures.

Day 3 ___Activity 1:
The animal/critter I chose was the kereru, which is a New Zealand endemic (native) wood pigeon. It feeds on fruit, leaves, twigs and buds. The Kereru is only found in New Zealand since it is native, surrounded in forests of Northland, the King Country, Nelson and the West Coast.

Activity 2:
I agree with this statement of predator free in New Zealand as they can reach out to our endangered native species and create much more extinction.

• Another reason is because our native animals are very important to New Zealand as they are endemic and prominent to our land. However, we will not let those predators harm our inhabitants.

Day 2 __ Activity 1:
Three places I mostly enjoyed and why-

• I enjoyed driving past Rangitoto as I had explored my eyes onto the most largest volcano in New Zealand. 
• Secondly, it was driving to Karekare that hyped me up, to experience the wonderful beach that had been calling my name.
• Last of all, I enjoyed the hotel close to Dargaville where I finally had a place to rest my head after the long day that embeded before me. 

Dear Diary, 9.07.17

Today was the most exciting yet stimulating day of my life, hearing the laughs and cries of joy of my family and experiencing the wonderful places in Aotearoa. My favourite place that I had accomplished was the when I laid my eyes on the most largest volcano in New Zealand.

• How did you feel about sailing across the world by yourself?
• Who inspired you to sail a substantial distance?
• Are you going to continue to accomplish more achievements?
• What was your best advice that you were given?
• How do you set your goals?

Bonus activity:

5 outdoor activities that a family member of mine enjoys - 

1. Walk around the block for some fresh air.
2. Hang laundry on a beautiful day to accomplish at least one household chore. 
3. Gardening to help the environment grow.
4. Enjoy a game of cricket or volley with the family.
5. Fish to provide food for the family.

Activity 1:
3 interesting facts  about New Zealand -

• I have analysed this article and I have discovered that us New Zealanders are responsible for inventing one of the world's fastest motorbike, including freezer vacuum pumps and even the electronic petrol pump.
• This isn't part of the topic I have been identifying, however I have recognised that whilst is meaning to while in this article.

• It is interesting that there are about 4.4million new zealanders (informally known as kiwis) located in Aotearoa. 

Activity 2:

My favourite five activities related to this video - 

• In Auckland it includes plenty of culture if you visit the Auckland War Memorial museum which includes natural and military history. 
• Involving the wonderful major attractions containing bungy jumping and even observing the wonderful living sea creatures located around Auckland's wonderful city region. 
• Walking around a magnificent view of mission bay and enjoy an inner city beach to spend with the family or friends.
• If you love seafood then quickly head across the bay to nearby Devonport which serves a marvelous amount of seafood that will knock your socks off. 
• Travel close to the native rainforest of the Waitakere rainforest to disport a tree top walk to enjoy with the family involving more of New Zealand's unique regional forest plants and trees. 

Bonus activity:
The reason of this design is because the fern is the only icon I can recall of the New Zealand culture. Also the red and white stars represent the original New Zealand flag as it involves four stars.
