What did you do in your first Holy communion?
My first Holy communion!
On Sunday, I woke up with excitement because today was going to be my first Holy communion. I woke up my grandma and mum. After I woke them up, I got dressed and had some breakfast. After I got ready, my uncle came with the baby and I played with her until my mum and grandma was ready. Then they had breakfast and I was such in a hurry that I asked my mum”When are we going”.
On Sunday, I woke up with excitement because today was going to be my first Holy communion. I woke up my grandma and mum. After I woke them up, I got dressed and had some breakfast. After I got ready, my uncle came with the baby and I played with her until my mum and grandma was ready. Then they had breakfast and I was such in a hurry that I asked my mum”When are we going”.
After that my aunt came to congratulate me on my Holy communion. Then she tied my hair for me and then she went. Then we all went into the van and went to church. When we arrived, I saw my friends and they wear a white dress and a Vail too, same as me. Then I felt more excited after seeing them. After that my we walked through the church with our parents and we sat down at the front left.
After we sat down, the priest started to talk and then we sang some songs. Then Neo, Jeen and I walked out the back and grabbed the candles and then I felt really shy walking through the church. Then we blew the candles out and gave it to the priest. Then all of us sang song and knelt and then stood as mass progressed along.
Then the priest blessed the bread and the wine. First we shook each others hands and said”Peace be with you”. Then we knelt down and the priest gave us the bread and wine. After that we said a prayer. Thirdly we a prayer. Then we each read the bible and then sang more songs.
After everything was complete the priest gave us certificates. Then our parent gave us presents, and then church finished. After church I took photos with my family and then took photos with the priest. Next we went home and had a celebration.Today was the best!

What did you do on your weekend?
My wonderful weekend!
On Saturday I got ready for my music class with my Grandma. After we got ready, we walked to my music class I play the recorder and it is a fun instrument. In my music class it only takes thirty minutes to learn new notes. After my music class had finished, my grandma and I went home. While we were walking, I saw Cheska and Kevin at the park do I went to play with them.
Then I asked my mum if I could hang out with them and my mum said yes. After that, I helped Cheska blow up some balloons and also helped Kevin to tie up it all up. After I helped Cheska and Kevin I asked “ What was going on”? Cheska said it was her brother’s birthday. I felt excited at first but then I felt bad because I didn't bring a present. However after that I helped Cheska’s dad to lift some chairs with Cheska. Then people came and they bring food with them.
Next it was time to play some games and it was called Treasure hunt’. We got into two groups and then Ace joined us. He was lucky because the game hadn't started yet. After Ace joined in we got into threes and the game. In the game I found clues and pieces of papers. If we find every clue, then we would get a prize. Cheska, Jane and I won and we got a whistle and a necklace with a pen on it. Then Kevin, Ace, Jane, Cheska and I played on the park, we played Hide ‘n’ seek and ball tag.
After that, we went to eat and there were a lot of of food that I liked. After that, I had dessert which was two cupcakes and a brownie. Finally it was time for photo time and fortunately Chaim came just in time to get a photo. Then I played with Cheska’s little brother Eldritch or Esco. Finally.Finally it was time to pack up so I helped Cheska’s dad to pack up and clean up. Then.Then it was time time to go home. Today was Awesome.

How exciting are Maori dances!
Our Maori dances
On Monday, our class was split into four groups and we practised a Maori dance. I joined Kevin’s group. Our team captains were Chaim, Greshka, Immanuel and Kevin. We practised our dance in the second block. After morning tea, we practised and practised until Miss Chao said it was time to stop.
My group performed the Maori alphabet song. Gabby, Kevin, Aiden and I were in the same group and we were the first group to perform. After we our dance, it was Immanuel’s group turn and then it was Ella, Lasike, Ingrid, Ace and Siu to perform ‘Um a Rapiti’. Their song was about three rabbits being hunted by the farmers.Then it was Greshka’s group’s to perform and she had Philomena, Patelesio, Javiah, Julius and Drey. They performed a dance about ‘Head, shoulders knees and toes’ in Maori language and they were awesome because they had signs that said that taught people the body parts in Maori.
The last group was Chaim’s group and they performed ‘Haere Mai’. I thought that her group was the best of all because they had a lot of movements. She had Cheska, Isaac, Launoa, Miguel and Cameron in her group. After that, Miss Chao said “Okay, let’s watch it tomorrow afternoon!” Finally it was home time, so we said our prayers and went home. Today was really exciting because we learnt new Maori songs!
WALT appreciate and celebrate Maori culture.
